HAY, scandanavia's favourite furniture and homeware design opens in Sydney!
I first came across HAY on Pinterest (obviously) and immediately drawn to their clean and minimal design. Ever since, I have been obsessively pinning their products on my secret wishlist board and browsing on DesignStuff every now and day.
My first encounter with a HAY store was in Antwerp and Amsterdam. We brought home some Kaleido trays (I bough two extra small in yellow and coral, and a small in mint), post-its, a notebook and surprisingly the adorable Porter towel holder. I wanted the AAC chairs so badly to dress up a dining table made from American Oak that we ordered from Green Cathedral but we have decided to shop around a for a bit more.
The store has two levels. Stationery, accessories and some furniture are on the ground level, and more furniture upstairs. I won't post too many photos so do head over there and check it out in person! They do not have the stock for furniture ready to be purchased, so you will definitely need to place the order. I saw most of the accessories and stationery are in store, and Kaleido trays seems to be on a reasonable price. If you do not find the item that you want, the first thing that the team will do is to contact their partner, Cult Design so you can also purchase straight from those guys as well.
I know where I will spending most of my time (and my money) whenever I am in Surry Hills now!
