Wooden floorboards

My dream home have always been Japanese and Scandanavian inspired, all grey if possible, covered in concrete or polished cement. Perhaps because I am a minimalist when it comes to interior (I would love to pull off some of Kelly Wreastler's luxe maximalist aesthetics though), so a grey backdrop it will be easy to style, throw in some black/grey/white furniture, done.

IRL, my new house is an older home with walnut coloured floorboard throughout the space. Don't get me wrong I am grateful that I have something given that the property prices in Sydney are shocking. Ripping the floorboard will be a waste so I have learn to live with it and figure out how to shop for furnitures and home decors.

It is surprisingly easy to style walnut coloured floorboard. Black/grey/white and even colourful pieces will work. Or you can freshen up the space with a rug (light grey is my favourite) if you feel like the space is too dark.

Here are some photos as inspiration.
