2016 is a great year for me in beauty. In this first part, I will be talking about a few swoon-worthy makeup collection (looking at you Chanel and Tom Ford), new fantastic foundations and I have also learnt that a few more amazing neutral eyeshadow palettes do not hurt at all. Please read on and enjoy!
Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick - I was so excited to get my hands on this when I was in the US. Easy to blend and has a good coverage. The finish is expensive, creamy and dreamy.
Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation - Perfect for a hot day. The formula is waterproof, covers well, stays on all day, surprisingly thin and not cakey. The most long lasting foundation ever.
Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer - This needs to be filed in underrated but amazing products. High coverage, creamy and not drying. You can't find this in Australia, but you can buy it online.
Glossier Stretch Concealer - I have been using the Maybelline Fit me concealer for under eyes, but the Stretch Concealer perfect for dry under eyes (hot tip: set with powder to lock in the concealer).
MAC Prep and Prime Fix It Mist - The mist that makes me believe in misting again.
Urban Decay All Nighter Spray - This locks my foundation for that extra staying power.
Face and Cheeks
Tom Ford The Afternooner Soleil Contouring Compact - Possibly the most beautiful TF pallette ever? I can go on and on about this beauty, read it here
Tom Ford Terra bronzer - A very tasteful matte bronzer, can be used as contour. The colour is perfect, not too orangey nor too grey.
Chanel Eyeshadow Quad in Candeur et Expérience - The colours look so damn good on Kristen Stewart. Another excuse to buy this is also because one of my favourite beauty editor, Lisa from Byrdie highly recommends this. The texture is soft and buttery. The colours are perfect, you can wear each colour on it’s own, or mix them together.
Charlotte Tilbury Luxury eyeshadow pallette in Dolce Vita - Bought this on impulse. I wore it once and it is enough to understand what the hype is. The pigmentation is intense, the texture is buttery and extremely easy to blend.
Glossier Boy Brow - My favourite brow product year, I feel naked without this one. Detailed review here.
Stila All Day Waterproof Eyebrow and Mac Brow Duo - The combination of both gave me the perfect long lasting colour.
Kevyn Aucoin The Volume - I love heavy duty waterproof and thickening mascara but the downside is, they are likely to smudge on humid days after a few hours. An old favourite, Kevyn Aucoin The Volume, though not as volumizing as Maybelline, the mascara is completely smudge-free, I promise.
Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Penelope Pink - The ultimate nude, perfect for my skintone. Luxurious, Creamy and very comfortable to wear.
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat liner in Pillow Talk - A little bit pinker than Penelope Pink lipstick, the two go well together.
MAC Liptensity lipstick in Doe - Another one of Lisa's recommendation, this lipstick is a surprise favourite. (I have had trouble finding a MAC lip formula that works for my dry lips) The colour is a fraction nuder than Penelope Pink. Smooth and comfortable, and the cute packaging is a plus.
Living Proof Dry Volume Blast - My Oribe Dry Texturizing Shampoo is running low, so I was looking to try something new. This is it. Bonus, this has amazing "thickening" effect.
Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa - I never really believed in makeup wipes until I read about this. Alcohol free, and a swipe of this makes you feel like your face just had a spa treatment. Super luxurious.
Mecca Cosmetica Sunbrella SPF50 - Easy to apply and non greasy. A lifesaver.
Serge Lutens Le Vierge De Fer - I bought this in 2015 in Paris when it was first released but only actively use it this year. A sweet but tasteful floral. Reminds me of Paris every time I use it.
