Rena's review: Chanel Le Vernis Rouge Noir and Le Gel Coat

I don't have to repeat my obsession with the one and only Rouge Noir if you have read this post.

I purchased both Chanel Le Vernis Rouge Noir and Le Gel Coat. I have worn them twice before writing this post.

Here are my thoughts:

Consistency: Thicker than the older formula but apply very smoothly.

Colour and shine: Great pigment, you can get away with one thick coat but I like to have two coats. Le Gel Coat (top coat) stays shiny for only the first few days.

Brush: I am a little disappointed with the brush, the bristles seem to be uneven making it hard to apply. My tip would be applying a big dollop of top coat and paint them quickly to avoid the streaky look. For gel formula, I have tried better and thicker brushes like the Dior Gel Coat.

Longevity: Definitely long wearing, perfect for the entire one week. After the 8th day, you will see first signs of chipping, but possibly because of my nails are prone to breakage. As for Le Gel Coat, I can't help but to compare to the Dior which I think is still the best top coat ever.

Will I repurchase: Yes for the Le Vernis, but I may not repurchase Le Gel Coat (the top coat).
