Rena's review: The Ordinary skincare

The internet is still buzzing about The Ordinary, Deciem's affordable skincare range. The Ordinary claims to communicate with integrity and bring to market effective, more familiar technologies at honourable prices. What attracts me is not just the price point but the thorough guide on their site to educate customers on the ingredients so they can make their own decision to design their own regime.

I finished up most of my serums, the perfect time to try The Ordinary to fill the gaps for my night time routine. Read on for mini reviews of the products that I have tried:

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1

The texture is gel-like, easy to spread and non-irritating. However, this product rolls off when you rub another product on top. I would recommend patting another product on top of this. However being a $9.90 product, it does not bother me. I do notice that my breakouts have lessen over time.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2%

This is an exfoliating serum, to be applied before cream or oils. I don't feel any tingling after applying this on my skin so I am not entirely sure if this products "works"? Again, at the price point, it does not bother me however I will not repurchase this and will repurchasing Sunday Riley's Good Genes which gave me instant results.

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%

I read that the 2% is more gentle than then 1% which is weird but perfect for sensitive skin. I enjoy the serum because the texture is lightweight and I don't experience any irritation. I alternate this with the Lactic Acid. I will definitely repurchase this.

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

This oil is perfect of my skin concerns, rose hip oil is rich in linoleic acid and pro-vitamin A to balance oiliness and acne prone skin. I will repurchase this.

I have my eyes on other products such as The Ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% The Buffet and the foundation! Will report back once I have got my hands on them.
